Decide that you're hungry at 1:45am and proceed to make Bratwurst and Sauerkraut.

He just came storming out of his room screaming, "What the 'F' is that smell?"

I guess it woke him out of a dead sleep. :D

That's happened to me already - one of my roommates would make something that smelled absolutely horrible. I don't remember what it was, but it'd wake me up in the middle of the night, and I'd have trouble getting back to sleep again. I'd wind up spraying a little Febreeze around so I'd have something mildly less disgusting to smell.

Before college, I could sleep through smoke alarms going off. In college, sleeping with roommates, anything would wake me up. I'm no good sleeping with another person in the room. I'm always a little on edge then.

oh yeah, i remember my miserable days with roommate years ago. it happened in spring of 2005.

i was sleeping over at my ex-gf's house for weeks that left my roommate alone in the dorm room. then i decided to sleep on my own and mention to this, he and i agreed that if blacklight is on that means either one of us is sleeping. i turned it on and went to sleep. (we slept on bunk beds with me on the top.) he came in and blasted music out loud at 2 in the morning. it woke me up and i thought it was my alarm vibrating; don't forget, i'm deaf. i tried to turn it off and it refused to stop. i went to look around and realized the room light was on. i went to say hi to my roommate, he freaked out and tuned volume down. i was like, "dude, you are far beyond the quiet hours and buy a pair of f'ing headphones!" he turned the room light off and i went back to sleep.

the next night, the SAME F'ING THING happened again. i woke up and swung him a good hit with pillow. "i'm used to be alone with you sleeping at your gf's," he said. "well, not anymore because finals are coming," i responded. he received warnings for blasting music incredibly loud.

other than that, i decided to play with his laptop while he was at work. the usually trick: print wallpaper, disable icons and hide taskbar.

retard.

My roommate pissed me the fuck off towards the beginning of the semester. I went to bed relatively early one night (10 PM) because I had a Physics test the next morning at 8. I told him I needed to sleep, and asked him to keep quiet.
At 2 AM I wake up to what I thought at the time was a fucking earthquake; we live in FL, there are no earthquakes. My room is parallel to the stairwell, and right by the front door. Him and 8 other guys, all mutual friends of ours, came stomping up the stairs and I could hear my roommate telling them to keep quiet; as if that would freaking matter once you had a near ton of cock stomping up the stairs. As soon as they walked in I got out of bed and started yelling and screaming, to which I got the answer "I never bring people over anyways." Needless to say, that pissed me the hell off, and I blew up, "DON'T BRING PEOPLE OVER AT 2 FUCKING AM."

I've been trying to figure out how to get back at him all semester (I fell asleep towards the end of the test, I couldn't fall back asleep after they woke me up for hours), and finally did on Friday, inadvertently too... He came home to study for a bio exam (unknown to me), and there were 4 of us playing GRAW2 and being loud as hell, then he just left. We were all , we thought he left. About 2 hours later we left to get some McDonald's and saw him sitting in the stairwell with some bio notes; I had to try so hard to keep myself from busting out laughing.

Anybody who sleeps light enough to be woken by SMELL doesn't deserve to sleep

May help your cause if you asked people things instead of telling them. If someone told me to 'keep quiet' because THEY has something THEY needed to do...I'd make as much racket as possible. Now if they said 'hey I have a test tomorrow and I have to get up early, I don't want to be a pain, but can you try not to wake me?'

If someone isn't considerate though all bets are off.

I did "ask" him to keep quiet, I bolded it for ya ;)
I did however, tell him, and tell him very loudly, not to bring people over at 2 AM.
