How to allow users to access multiple FTP folders? (Xitami)

I'm running Xitami webserver and am trying to figure out how to allow certain users access to multiple folders. Right now I have to create a new user account for every folder. Some of my users have 3 or 4 different login names and passwords!!!

For example, I created a login for "Brad" and I want him to be able to see the folders "BradsStuff" and "MySharedStuff". How? If I allow him to see aliases, he sees them all (not just the ones he has access to).

I do not know much about Xitami but with most ftp servers you need to create a link text to the folders you want them to have access to as well as granting them access to the actual folder. Then you would put that link text in their home folder and make it a hidden file and change the users options to not being able to see hidden files. Read the help files to the program and it should tell you what you need to do.

Brilliant, just brilliant! OK, I can see how placing a shortcut link to each of their other folders in their home folder would help, but why hide the links? Or am I totally off track? I'll re-read the help files in case I missed something (which I probably did).

Thanks for your response! I had just about chaulked this post up as a complete failure ;)

Is that a good FTP server bigjon? That's the first time I've heard of it. And Wik how do you create a link textin Serv-U? Sorry but I'm kind of lazy to go through it.

.paldo,

Xitami kicks butt ;) I've been using it for awhile and have been pretty impressed, especially considering it's totally free. It has all the basic features (including remote admin) and it's incredibly fast and small. Read some of the comments at the Imatix site.
