How to adjust bass/treble in volume controls

My "Advanced Controls" is greyed out. Therefore, I cant get to tone controls for bass/treble adjustments.
Does anyone know the registry hack to enable this option?
I remember doing it for win98 with another sound card I had.

What kidn of sound card do you have? It might be your sound card software that took over the controls.
