hey everyone, when i try to play crysis, the only widescreen resolution it supports is my native 1680x1050. When i play the game at this res, the performance is absolutely disgusting. Does anyone know how i can add like a 1440x900 or even a 1280x800 resolution? do i need to update the game? I'm using an 8800gt btw.

If you don't find an answer here, I very highly recommend Crymod.com. Theres many registered Crysis users there. Not to mention a large official staff team, many of which also actually work for Crytek. (They've helped me a bunch of times).

Not to down AT or anything, but for a problem as specific as this I'd recommend paying a visit to them if you want it answered quick

What settings are you playing at, and how do you define absolutely disgusting? Oh, and what's the rest of the system like? I only ask because I played Crysis at 1680x1050 on my 8800GT with a custom cfg and combo of vhigh/high and it played just fine until a few parts near the end (which I won't spoil) where I needed to crank things down a bit.

Use the NVIDIA control panel, go to the manage custom resolutions file and add whichever 16:10 resolution you want, the resolution will appear on the Crysis menu thereafter.

Yeah, I think you need the resolutions added as a custom resolution (if not already there) in Windows before you can see or use them in a game.

My system is down right now (mobo died) but I'll get my new board on Monday and then I'll check and let you know. I'm pretty sure I actually turned water effects to low and it gave me quite a bit more headroom and only lost the visuals on the water (which I rarely saw climbing around in the jungle anyway).
