how to add info

nork

Senior member
Hope this is the right place to post this thread.

Anyway, im pretty dumb about this, so i need some help.
I see other members with a link to their heatware account and other stuff like info on their rig, so that when they post all that shows up.
What spot do you type info into to have it placed there?
How do i get a link to my heatware in there?

thanks

i do know how to get into profile, i just dont know:

how and where to add a link
where to add text, i know how to add text, duuhh, dont know where to add it so it shows up where i want it to, in this case, i want link and/or text to show up when i post.

thanks

Like I said, you put that in the signature portion of your profile. Click the "symbols" link below the signature edit box to find out how to create links, underline and bold, etc.

Click on the profile button (right next to the new topic button), then scrool down until you see the box with the word signature next to it. Type in that box what you want in your sig line.

To add a link to your sig, you type in that box [ L = link name]http://yoururlhere.com [ / L ]

Just take out the spaces.

So i take it this is programming language? Will work on all or most fora?

Thank you very much, ladies and gentlemen, i finally got it.

On other forums that use this particular forum software it should work.

It's just a tag like html, not a programming language.

Heatware

If you have patience with me, im not really doopid, just dont know anything about this stuff.

Is the link created by the use of this format [... ] [ .. /I .. ] , taking out the ......, so that virtually whatever you put in there will work, provided it has a valid web addy? Or is this still way over my head? I had to put in some of the ... or it wouldnt show on this page

Ask me to build a computer or install xp, or even tweak it, mod a case, etc, etc, i can do that stuff, lol
This stuff is the same in that you simply learn it, but i dont have the first clue what i am doing, maybe this is my very first clue?

thanks again
