How to add color to the, god forbid, ... DOS window

I notice some computer geeks display the DOS window as Blue with Yellow text. How did they do that?

If you are running NT/2000/XP it's not a DOS window, it's a command prompt

Open one up, left-click on the upper left corner and select properties. Check out the colors tab.

yes please note that there is a very big differance between the CLI (Command Line Interface) within Window NT4/2K/XP and DOS. DOS is an Operating System whereas the CLI is simply a command line interface to an entirely differant OS (Windows). 😉

You can do it in a batch file too with the command
color
type color /? for a list of options.
