How to add a wireless access point to current network?

Hi,
I currently am using a 8 port Linksys Router at my house.
The cable modem is plugged into this router and is using dhcp.

I recently acquired a Linksys Wireless Access Point Router w/ 4 port switch Model No. BEFW11S4 Ver. 2

My question is, can i just plug this router into one of the rooms with a cat5 running from the 8 port router (with the cable modem hooked to it) into this one or what is the best way to set this up? I want to keep my existing wiring intact, and will be adding a few more computers via wireless in a designated room. Is it best if DHCP is disabled on this wireless router, and if so, will the wireless computers get their IP's from the 8 Port router?

Hope i didn't confuse anybody.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

A couple of ways you can do it. If you don't NEED the full 8 ports on your current router, then just replace it with the wireless router and configure the new one the same way the old one was.

The other way is pretty much as you described. I'm not sure of the exact way that the Linksys works (and the manual for what I think is your router isn't available). If the configuration allows you to set it up in "bridge" mode, then you can do it that way so that it acts entirely as a bridge between the wired network and the wireless. If it doesn't, then you can simply disable the DHCP server in it, and connect the wire from the 8 port to the uplink port of the new one, leave the WAN port empty and configure the WAN with static IP information (random network not related to your existing one), and it will act just as a switch for the remaining wired ports and the wireless (you may have to specify that the wireless is enabled in the configuration).
