The PIX has a few VPN tunnels setup already, is there a way to configure it so that a select group of employees can access are work LAN from home using a VPN somehow...?

you'll need a vpn gateway/concentrator of some sort. I don't think that you can use your PIX will function as one.

OpenBSD comes out of the box with functionality to be a vpn gateway, but client and server config is a pain.

or you could purchase an entry level Cisco VPN 3000 concentrator. They're relatively inexpensive, you get a little support, and the client is easy enough to use.

Yes, you can.

As long as you have a fairly recent version of Pix IOS, it can be used to terminate or pass-through VPN tunnels.

Easiest would probably be to use the Cisco VPN software, or, the Pix can be set up to terminate MS-style VPNs (PPTP / L2TP).

Good Luck

Thanks for the info!

Our PIX has the latest version of the IOS software so I should be good to go. For the Cisco VPN software, can I download that from their site, or is it something you have to purchase?
