How to access Windows XP password-protected files from another system

Hi!

I have a hard drive with a Windows XP installation, my username is password protected and so is my documents and settings folder. I sold the parts on that system so I have to access my files from another Windows installation (installed HD on another computer as slave), but I can't get the privileges to do so. It doesn't ask for a password (which I have) or anything... is there an easy solution other than trying to boot the Windows XP on that drive on a similar system to the one used before?

Thanks for any help.

If the files/folders are encripted then they can't be retrieved. If the foles/folders are just protected then you can grant yourself access to the folder and files in a few steps under Win XP Pro but I am unsure how to do this in Win XP Home. 1st open my computer or another folder and click on tools then Folder Options and under the view tab uncheck use simple file sharing. Next, right click the protected folder and click on shareing and security. Click on the security tab then advanced and then click on the owner tab. Take over ownership of the files.
