How to access Mysql from a single server to 15 -20 thin clients

i have a windows pc (loaded with Xp) and 30 thin clients. THe configuration of this sytem is Intel Core I3, Hard disk 500 gb, 8 GB RAM. I have installed Mysql in this system. The moment i try to login to Mysql from more than 4 thin clients the system hangs. What are the upgradation requirements to be made so as to access Mysql from 15 thin clients simultaneously.

Usage: Internet (browser), MS office(Excel), No Games, Mysql and Matlab

I need to know a Normal configuration for the Server. My thoughts: 16GB RAM, processor - (please give some inputs-will a single windows 2003 server be sufficient),500GB Hard disk,Windows Server 2003.

Or use three servers connected to 4 clients each. What is the recommended solution..?

Thank you

I am not having any idea about the thin clients hardware.. What should i check about them. I cannot use Linux either.

XP now has a limit on the number of connections it can maintain at the same time.

Microsoft did this when there were too many viruses going around and they changed the tcp-ip stack: This did upset many people when service pack 2 came out.
Here is a link that chats about it: https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=47939.0

This is in no way illegal to make your XP work like it should.
If your pc was not XP but a server then I would recommend buying more client seats.
