How to access my documents folder from a slave disk in my computer

Well, I dont know how to explain it cos its not my own language, but here i go:
There is a computer that failed, and the motherboard is on RMA, but I want to access some data from "MyDocuments" folder, from that PC hard drive. The PC has W XP SP2 and the user from E:\Documents and Settings that has the data I need Is password protected (in the windows login) I know the password, but as I attach the drive to my computer and try to access the data from here, windows says "Access Denied".
What can I do?

Thanks.

You should right click on the folder, go to properties, security, advanced, then the owner tab. Make the user (presuming you are the admin of the computer you are working on) then take ownership, reset all permissions on child objects.

This should allow you to gain access to veiw the contents and open anything that isn't password protected in your folder. Good luck

Just keep in mind, when the motherboard comes back, and you drop the HD back into the other computer, the origional user won't be able to use the folder anymore either, and in the profile folder, you will now see a domain\user.000 file that is the new profile.
