How to Access Hidden Library Folders in Mac OS X

Apple doesn’t like its novice or intermediate users tampering with its internal operating system libraries and files and, hence the library folder is hidden by default. However, experts can enable their privileges to access this folder and work around with development and debugging their programs. Library folders in Mac OS can be accessed through two simple methods. Here’s how to access the library folders in Mac OS.

How to 'Access Library Folders' via Finder

Step 1
Open ‘Finder’
Click ‘Finder’ from the dock of your Mac. The finder window will appear on your desktop.

Step 2
Go to ‘Library Folder’
From the menu bar, select the ‘Go’ menu and then select ‘Go to Folder’. Enter '~/Library’ and then click ‘Go’. The Library folder will be displayed in the window.

How to 'Access Library Folder' Via Go Menu

Step 1
Select 'Go' Menu with 'Alt Key'
Press and hold the ‘Alt’ key aka ‘Option’ key on the keyboard. Select the ‘Go’ menu from the menu bar and then click the [/b]‘Library’/b] folder. You’ll notice the Library folder in the menu as long as you press the ‘Alt’ key and you’ll be able to access the Library folder upon a click.

Step 2
Add ‘Library Folder’ to Favorites
Switch to ‘Hierarchy’ view and then simply ‘Drag’ the ‘Library’ folder from the window to the favorites in the left pane. Your ‘Library’ folder will be added to the favorites.
