How to access Amazon music library

The normal way is to play it through a browser.

If I have a pair of headphones/amp I want to use for it not using a PC, what is the best way?

I have an Amazon Echo, but it is neither portable nor has any sound output beside the builtin speaker.

What would be a good device using Wi-fi, a browser, with an output for a headphone amp?

One possible option not with a browser is the 'Amazon dot' voice interface?

The "normal" way is through a browser? I would think the more common way these days would be through an Android or iOS app. Phone, tablet, etc.

I don't use a phone, and the tablet speaker is neither a convenient browser nor a good speaker and not worth bothering with bluetooth because I usually just use the Amazon echo interface to access and play on that, though I can also go through browser on PC.

I thought you said into a headphone amp? Doesn't your tablet have a headphone jack? Use an app on the tablet, not a web browser. Or buy an inexpensive Android phone to be used just for that task.

Ya, the tablet would be an option. Just not crazy about its browser and the no keyboard interface.

A phone sounds even worse. I guess I'm thinking the voice interface devices sound better to use.

The app is much preferable to using it in the browser. Also voice recognition still sucks for everything. I don't care if Alexa/Echo is 99.99% reliable or whatever it's at, just like with Google Now/Assistant, Siri, Cortana, et al it's the 0.01% time it doesn't work - and I'm sure it's much higher than that - it's frustrating enough to make you go back to doing things via touch or mouse input.

OP, if you just want an excuse to use the Dot, go ahead and use the Dot. The app is the way I'd do it, though. But even that's not perfect, though it's gotten better over time.

I use the software on my pc, aka amazon music has a windows installer

I use the app on my phone, Samsung s5

All of it is included with prime membership, 100/year

Prime shipping
Prime video
Prime music

Not sure where 10/month is coming from

You can upload your own music to the "cloud". So far I'm allowed about 350 songs before I hit a limit

We just bought the $40 7" Fire tablet for this very purpose. If Amazon ever gets around to shipping it, I'll let you know how it goes. We'll throw in a 128 or 200 GB micro-SD card and store most music locally.

10 bucks a month? No way. I'll stick with Pandora.

Well, there are a few options, and I do not like Amazon as a company much but have got a lot previously.

The music I already bought I can play for free.

The music if I have prime is millions of songs included with Prime.

And for $4/month they have this new service with tens of millions of songs. I'm not really familiar with other services that much though I tried pandora a bit once.

I already use the echo, and it seems FAR more convenient than any app to me. Saying "Alexa, play song title is 2 seconds and has never not worked I can think of, over opening app and typing anything. The only inconvenience question is between saying the word Alexa or pressing a remote.

I've used the Amazon music app and don't remember having to type anything in (on a phone). I guess if you searched for stuff you would have to but I just played music by album. Anyway, if you have issues with pressing a few (virtual) keys on a phone/tablet in order to search, just give up and buy a cassette player and use that instead.

Seems like a rude tone.

I bought a $10 prepaid phone from Best Buy just for this task. I have PowerAmp installed to play mp3s, Amazon Prime music, (Google) Play music and (Microsoft) Groove music installed. I keep the phone in airplane mode and just turn on/off the wifi when I need it.
