January 28, 2003 -- WASHINGTON - Saddam Hussein has ordered official death certificates sent to Iraqi scientists' families as a chilling warning against aiding U.N. inspectors, The Post has learned.

Word of the death certificates containing prominent scientists' names has reached Iraqi exile groups.

"The message is, they will die a terrible death if they cooperate - and the death will be legally listed as an accident or result of an illness," said one exile.

Iraqi scientists have refused to speak to U.N. weapons inspectors without government minders present.

yeh yeh we all kow its propaganda. But the scientists have all refused to talk with inspectors without iraqi military people overseeing the interview. You know why? Cause the scientists know they will get bludgeoned to death or thier family raped and mutilated.

Nonsense! They're all just really really shy. And they worship Saddam. And the UN guys would ask really really tough scientific questions that are best answered by Saddam's personal representatives. Yeah, that's the ticket...

What kind of source would satisfy you? It coming from the president? No, because he has an adgenda and it's just propeganda. I would imagine if God were to appear on TV and announce that this were true, you still wouldn't believe it and call it fake.

I don't know about fake, but suffice it to say that the NY Post is just one rag away from a supermarket tabloid, and that rag has a name: The Trentonian. I take everything I read in the NYP with a five pound sack of salt. At least The Trentonian has the good sense to put a pretty girl amongst its spew

I'd say a bit of both... I wouldn't pu it past him doing something like that but I would like to have a source that I can trust verify this (the BBC ocmes to mind)
