I think life jacket would be completely useless if the wave ever crashes and plummet you down to the ocean floor.

Holy shit, those are big waves. That spot has a shit ton of sharks too.

I'm no stranger to a surf board and my nickname is wildbill. I gotta admit if I saw a wave like that my first reaction would be to swim for shore... and change my pants... lol I can't even imagine how one could survive a wipe in those kinds of waves. I saw an older video of some guys big wave riding in the Fiji area one waves like those. Some place in the middle of the Pacific, no land in sight. They get towed into the curl by waverunners because it's impossible to "catch" a wave that big. Anyone know what I am talking about?

Yeah. The guys get towed out by jetskis and then have to catch back on or else get killed by the whitewash.

I truly believe big wave surfing is one of the coolest things that any human can possibly hope to do in their lifetime. That and those guys who skydive over/through mountains with those bird suit things. Bad ass.
