The mods are clearly getting some entertainment value out of it. Besides, if they close this, the nonsense may spread to other parts of the forum turning this benign tumor into a malignant one..

I'm not sure we even have mods here anymore. Someone called me all sorts of names and a psychopath who should have been put to death as a child (I am not making this up) ...and still no action despite my mod alerting it a week ago.

So fast! I can't wait to be flying at speeds faster than i5-3470+GT630! Anyone here ready for that?

Keep the lulz coming galego.

Surely there must be another chart show it being head to head with a i7 3770 and Tri-SLI titans? I mean, hsa, huma, to the metal!?!?

How clueless does one have to be when even an AMD marketing promo which is designed for hype won't touch those claims or get anywhere even close to near them.

What exactly does this have to do with the PS4 and XBox One? This is an AMD tech video for their A series APUs for PC.

I have finally figured it out. Galego is not a PS4 fanboy as we all first suspected. He is an AMD fanboy. That is why he spent all that time trying to convince us that AMD's Jaguar was on the same performance level as an I7.

-PS- Still no source for your claim that AMD is retiring support for DirectX? Although I'm not surprised at all, I'm going to keep asking for it every time you post another ridiculous claim or make up a new set of facts to post about.

From the link:

The upcoming next-generation consoles from Microsoft and Sony are powered by AMD's new line of APUs. To give people an idea of how powerful the new processors are, AMD released a new trailer called "Be Invincible"...

Good god.

Neither Intel nor Nvidia could provide the next gen tech in the Xbox One and PS4. Intel Iris graphics are slow, power hungry, and expensive. Nvidia has not X86 license.

And more of the same for discrete. New AMD-based gaming notebooks were presented at Computex. You need a Haswell (Intel) plus 750M (Nvidia) to match one of those notebooks.

No. Intel and Nvidia don't have a stupid WSA with their foundries to order x amount of wafers per year or else having to pay huge penalty. hence AMD can sell those APUs at 0 margin and still "profit" from it due to not having to pay the penalty for this agreement.

Isn't the 50w Iris faster than the 100w A10-6800k?

Here is the real problem with AMD’s processors. With the exception of the integrated graphics test, at no point was the A10-6800K faster than the Core i5-3450. In fact, most of the time it was much slower. Yet despite that the A10-6800K consumed 59% more power than the Core i5-3450 under full load.

You were saying something about power hungry, was this what you meant?

I have to admit, this thread has been entertaining, thank you galego for pushing this thread into the realms of insanity. I'm excited for the PS4 and Xbox 1 not because I'll buy either, but because of the X86 standardization across the board now.

PC gamers should benefit, although I can see lazy "ports" to the PC calling for more threads than most current gaming systems are using. Will the vast speed difference per core between the PS4 and say an Intel i5 make up for the lack of cores?

I play BF3 and the performance difference on a system that has six or more threads vs a standard quad core is noticeable in 64 man servers. My i5-2500 machine bogs quite a bit, whereas my i7-3770k box rarely feels CPU limited, both running the same GPU's.

Did it really take 69 pages for the truth to finally come out that this isn't a PS4 thread it's simply an AMD troll thread? Dang.

Nvidia has no X86 chip. It couldn't sell anything. The best chip developed by Intel is Haswell, which is much slower and power hungry than the APUs on Xbox One and PS4.

Really? A six times more expensive chip is a bit faster than a two generation older chip bottlenecked by slow RAM? LOL

By power hungry I meant the GT3e Haswell chips being massively rejected by OEMs:

OEMs don't seem all that impressed with GT3e, as it's power hungry and expensive. We expect only a tiny number of notebooks will come with GT3e.

Intels sand doesn't cost anymore than AMD's, they just simply make better products with the same material.

It's kind of sad to see you in this position, knowing Intel who didn't spend 5.4 billion for their gpu tech they're already in a better position than AMD at half the TDP.

Is there any market AMD is in where they aren't on the bottom pricing to the lowest bidder?

I suppose if you completely ignore 95% of what Haswell is designed by Intel to do then yeah, it's slow.

It doesn't matter that it's several times faster on the CPU side at all right?

Hasn't it been shown numerous times that pairing a weak intel chip with a weak nvidia chip will still beat the value of AMDs APU?
