I would sell my 25% soooooo fast. Websites like this are a fad. Look at MySpace. King of the hill about 5 years ago. Now struggling to stay open. Facebook is at its peak, sell to Google.

If I were worth that much I'd just cash in my chips and begin traveling, getting into hobbies, doing charitable work, etc. rather than run a company.

It's far, far from a fad. Myspace fails for a variety of reasons, not the least of which being that it is necessary. Facebook is now a necessary function of society. If it actually failed, it would be replaced. It just needs proper management.

Hes done numerous interviews saying he doesnt want to sell it. Yahoo even confirmed they offered 1 billion to buy it on 06, and he turned it down.

Yeah playing Farm games and posting pics of yourself drunk at parties is a necessary function in modern society.

That's easy. If Mark Zuckerberg were to charge people 1 Billion dollars for the right to punch him in his cock, there would probably be about 6 people that could afford to pay the charge.

Yea but it was worth more and Yahoo would have killed it. Look what happened after My Space was bought out by News Corp/Fox.

I wonder how much his net worth got impacted by the Facebook outage that's going on this afternoon?

When I try to log onto Facebook at the moment, this is what I get:

"Internal Server Error - Read
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

For some reason that reminded me of this:

Yes, because it is a necessity that I know my cousin stepped in milk and his cat is licking his foot. Holy shit would I be lost without this information.

And that is what I was saying whether it fails or not, there's another site to take its place tomorrow.

Depends how valuable/useful the immense amount of marketing data they collect is. I can see it being a 9-figure company easily.

Yeah i dont get how the company makes money either. There is nothing to pay for there. Maybe a few loons who pay for some of the games, but doesnt that just go mostly to the game company owner? Ive never given one dime to facebook nor click on any ads which i would assume is the majority of its users.

But i could be wrong.

I also agree with the fad and would sell out as fast as possible if I were him. How often do these kinds of companies stick around for more than 7-8 years? The technology moves too fast. One day people wake up and decide that whatever they have been spending the last 5 years of their life doing every day looks old and dated and they want to move on to something new.

Does facebook have a chance of pulling off a Google and being so entrenched into society that people can't break off? Sure they do. But it's much more likely that they'll copy AOL, Corel, Netscape and Yahoo as having a huge influence on the direction technology moves but ultimately be unable or unwilling to dynamically change fast enough to remain on top.
