I'm trying to get Teamspeak to work, but I have no idea what the hell I'm supposed to do. Never in all my years of using computers have I encountered such a confusing proggy...

Okay...so what's not working exactly? Basically, someone has to set up and run the server. Everyone else runs the client and connects to the server. You can run a server and a client on the same machine to figure out how things work if you like.

I can't figure out how to run the server, nor can we figure out how to connect.

Hang on. Lemme grab a copy of the server and see what all you have to do. It's been a while so I don't recall off the top of my head.

Okay, I'm back.

First question: Do you have a router? If so, you have to open some ports.

8767 UDP to be exact.

No, we're on a switch.

Okay. Here we go.

First, install the server. Make a note of the admin/superadmin passwords it generates.

Fire up the server, log in (right click on the systray icon), then specify a password.

All your friends need to connect is your IP and the password (use quick connect).

That's pretty much it.

Did you make a note of the passwords for admin/superadmin when first installing it?

If so, right click the server icon in the tray and select "administration". Then login and mess with the settings as you like. They're fairly self-explanatory.

I did that, but I get an error page.

I have no idea what that's all about. You get a different message if you just enter the wrong password or whatever. Maybe check out the forums I linked earlier?

Hmmm...I'm afraid I don't know then. Everything I do to mess up the login just puts me at the "login incorrect" page. :(
