This movie looks simply awful from the previews ive seen. Also the people I know who have seen it say it sucks. It made $21.8 million in it's opening week. Hell, that is almost as much as "Chicago" has made in 4 weeks ($29.4 Mil). Doesn't speak very well for the taste of the moviegoing public.

Catherine Zeta-Jones > Estella Warren.

actually i don't know... maybe that's because there's nothing else good coming out... :( i know i didn't contribute to that 21.8 mil. i'd love to see how much it makes next week though. :)

When I saw Moby Dick on the shelf at a book store, I thought to myself, who the hell wants to read a book about a whale.

the real question you should be asking is: how does Kangaroo Jack get past the stage of some moron conceiving the idea?

Because this country is full of morons who think that a talking kangaroo running around the desert is worth $20 to watch for 2 hours.

I think with movies targeted to kids, a portion of ticket sales are towards parents who have to take their kids to watch it. So if 1 kid wants to watch it, then on average that's 2 additional tickets being sold for mom and dad.

If anyone saw the Daily Show on Monday, John Stewart said he was mad at America. Why? Because Kangaroo Jack was #1 at the box office.

(His delivery was much better than my terse retelling.)

very good point. if i was to ever be a co-producer in a movie, i'd invest in a kid flick.

The fvcking kangaroo never talked in the movie. During that part the actor was hit in the head and he is hallucinating. It's basically a damn kids movie, take it as it is.

Hmmm... same tactic as Snow Dogs... the dogs never talked except in a dream sequence. A trailer that target kids for sure....

I saw part of the Snow Dogs because it was free. I can't believe Kangaroo Jack is #1 .... They're going to make a second one then... let's hope it goes directly to video.

It's a kids movie, anyone who thinks this was aimed at any other target is not thinking straight.

O.K. I'll admit that it's people like me who contributed to the great sales of the movie tickets this past weekend. ;) - Hey, I have a 9-year-old daughter who wanted to see it. Usually, movies for her age level are hard to come by, so we took the opportunity to see it. We paid $6.00 (each) for the tickets.

Unfortunately, the movie theater couldn't get me to buy their Hot Tamales bulk candy for $8.00 a Lb. (I'm serious about the price.) Instead, I purchased a larger box at my grocery store for less than $1.00 and put them in my coat pocket.

Overall, the movie was not that bad. It kept me entertained. Had it not been for my daughter wanting to see it, I wouldn't have gone to see it.
