How the hell does Fedex Express Saver take 7 days from Georgia to Florida?

They usually ship at least as fast as UPS, but their lame ass tracking system is stone age!

I've got a package on the way to CA from OH, and it's due on the 26th. It was sent on the 20th. The current tracking info says, "May 21, 2005 2:21 am Departed FedEx sort facility CLEVELAND, OH". 😕

Just called to confirm, 7 days from Georgia to FL via Fed Ex Express Saver..... My lord....

Thats why you should always ship UPS. We are slower in some areas and faster in others but unless a mistake is made, the package is always delivered in the time specified. The longest TNT for a ground package in the US is 6 days, but thats only in hard to reach areas. A Package from Seattle, WA to Miami, FL is 5 days. GA to FL would be next day, even by ground. Go brown!

PS Our tracking system actually works to 😉

EDIT** In defense of FedEx, there are definitly times when their saver is cheaper and faster than our ground service. They built their network as Air, then ground. We did the opposite and cover more territory but they still have slightly better air service in some situations.

Tell that to all the damn companies using Fedex.

Yah, I know. I shop with newegg and they are stuck on using fedex. At least be thankful it's not DHL. I have had 4 packages shipped by them in the last year and they have screwed up on three of them resulting it at least 1 day delivery delay. The longest was 5 days. I have had a single screw up shipping UPS (funny thing is this happened after I became an employee...) our of many, many packages shipped (couple of hundred at least).

Well, UPS US-Europe were more than a bit rough with my packages, but I'd insured the computer that I was shipping so they wound up buying me a new system 🙂

Dont know why but I have a package coming from NJ to IN. should be here on it's second day of the journey. What gets me is the truck that takes it to South Bend from Indianapolis drives within 5 miles of my house. They would save some gas if he turned left at the "this way to deliver to Shot" sign. 🙂

That sucks, but it's rare.

I have NEVER had a UPS package show up early, and five (at LEAST!) days from CA to NC is extremely annoying. FedEx comes a day or two early quite often for me. If I get the choice, it's always FedEx.

For consumers it might not be a big deal, but for companies they LIKE it when their packages arrive exactly when they want them to, not early and not late. With Fedex it's like rolling the dice trying to figure out when it will come, with DHL it's rolling the dice trying to figure out whether or not you will ever see it again. At least with UPS it comes when we say it comes, though sometimes a bit battered and bruised due to how many hubs it has gone through.

Fed Ex used to run everything through their main warehousing facility in Memphis, TN. Maybe you're still on that system? So they ship it to Memphis and then back down. That's about 2-3 days each way, factor in a weekend and you're dealing with a 7 day turnaround. Sounds about right by their saver standards.

Weird, it showed up as having travelled from Decatur, GA to Atlanta, GA last night.... Now that part is gone and it just shows picked up in Decatur.

I thought I seen a fedex guy walking with a package out back in the woods yesterday. I should have taken couple pop shots at him for ya.

Interesting, its on the truck for delivery today 🙂

When the website, the customer service, and even my tracking info say 7 days, yet the package is out for delivery today, i am a happy man 😀

1. drop package behind belt assembly
2. retreive package 2 days later
3. put package on truck going to airport
4. fly package to Japan
5. send package back to states
6. put package in special bin for lost packages
7. lose lost packages bin
8. find lost package bin
9. process packages and send your package to Georgia.
10. profit
