i made flashcards, you know, using notecards that you buy from a store and a pen!

allowed me to easily sort the ones i already knew so i could focus on the ones i didnt..but maybe your c# app will own my study methods

i think some girl told me about a site with virtual flash cards... google for such site.

and i really made physical flash cards and studied them on subway. i really built such a big vocab base that i should review it now even tho i scored a 610 on it =)

i was so freaking happy when i saw the 610 on the screen.

I read books, fiction books, and a lot of them. Learned a lot of words in context, especially after reading Robert Ludlum. Ideally you need to start studying for this test months if not a year in advance. Good scores will get you more money; remember too, you are competing with others for slots in your program of choice. Your 1450 vs. your competition's 1200 may get you a research assistantship rather than that awful TA position. Try to do as little work as you can outside of your classes and dissertation/master's thesis reasearch as you can. All that time preparing to teach classes and whatnot is vampyric; it is time you could be devoting to your project.

If you google it, there's an excel spreadsheet that someone's put together of the words that have appeared on it in the last couple of years. But yeah, memorize, memorize, memorize. Just remember, a 710 on the verbal is something like the 97 percentile. (It's been a couple of years since I took it, but I think that's about right).

Good luck
