How the hell do you shave!

So I attempted to shave with a manual razor today for the first time. I used the following procedure

1) Shower, clean face w/antibacterial soap
2) Shaving cream for "sensitive" skin
3) Shave with Mach 3 going with the grain

Now looking at it I can see a few spots on my face that I missed, no biggi. The problem is with my neck. It looks like I didn't get a damn thing! Am I supposed to press much harder or what?

For the record, I have been shaving for the past 5-6 years (I am 21) with an electric.

1. Shower.
2. Shaving gel.
3. Mach 3 shaving towards my jaw line ("down" on the face, "up" on the neck)
4. Rinse.
5. Enjoy.

umm move it in different directions and press until it comes off, i guess. im half-asleep in the shower when i do it.

How many blades on that razor of yours? Try against the grain in the shower. You can probably feel the way your beard grows with your free hand.

It grows downward both on my face and neck. I tried to shave upward for about 1/4" and it felt like it was ripping my nexk apart. And a Mach 3, so probably 3 blades🙂

Do it faster. The slower you go the more it'll hurt. It's like ripping off a band-aid.

Edit: Make sure to splash warm water on your face & HOT water on the razor. Keep it warm & wet and everything will be just fine.

(oooh, ooh, ooh...I got another interpretation of this joke.)

Shave diagonally.

He'd look like a golf course then. Balls would be smaking him in the face all day.

*Ahem*...Who says they aren't already?!?!

*Rimshot*, I'll be here all week, don't forget to tip your waitress folks.

(EDIT: Well, what Zim was implying, but I came out and said it!)

That's basically what I do too. I have some of the coarsest facial hair I've ever seen, it takes forever to get to the point of being smooth, and within hours it's stubble again lol...I just do the day old look now and deal with it.

I have the crazy feeling my drill seargent (who I will be meeting in two weeks) would not be too happy.
