How the hell do you get 5.1 speaker output in WinAmp 5.0?

I had it in Winamp 2.91 and then I upgraded (?) to Winamp 5 and I don't. Under options/perferences/output/configure it lists speaker setup as 5.1 but I'm not getting anything out of the rears.

Anyone?

Your source needs to be 5.1 for the output to be 5.1.

Make sure you have DirectSound enabled. If these are WMA files, read this thread.
