how the hell do I save my game in GTA San Andreas?

yeah I know its old game but its my first time playing it. I have done a few of missions but cant find a place to save. I looked online and seems I should be able to at the house but there is no icon in the kitchen.
 
well I got it now. I had triggered another mission and you cant save while doing a mission so that was it. 😳
