Every car is different. Usually, it involves locating hidden fasteners or pop in tabs and prying the panel off.

First, buy a book that has the detailed schematics of your car ( like chilton). It will tell you exactly what to do. You will probably need a panel remover tool and some replacement panel fasteners when you break a few.

Go to your local autozone and purchase a Haynes manual on your car. It will do you much good both here and any other time you need help with your car.

I believe they cost about 15-20 dollars and have very detailed diagrams of everything in the car.

They will both tell and show you how to replace this part.

Typical window regulator, the motor attachés to this assembly.

Remove door panel

Remove plastic sheathing

Locate 10mm bolts holding regulator/motor assembly in and loosen them

Clamp glass o door using plastic spring clamps

Remove 10mm bolts and slide regulator/motor assembly out through access panel in door

Assembly is reverse of removal

Roger will you come over and fix it? Please

I have had the morots fail. those can usually be replace with the loss of a couple of knuckles. A pro (Roger) may be able to do it withou any loss of skin.

Regulators are harder, depending on the location.

I had a auto glass shop replace one for me for $60 labor and I supplied the parts. Part was shipped from a recycler (junk yard) across the country for $50.

After you fix it keep an eye out for recalls (if there isn't one). I had the dealer replace the regulator on my 2001 Altima and 2 weeks later I got a recall letter saying that all four would be replaced for free. Nissan reimbursed me for the one I had gotten replaced already. I say this because there seems to be a lot of people experiencing the same problem with that car.
