Well, after I tested my C2 566 @ 566 on an iWill Slotket2, 850Mhz was the next step. I am still in the process of getting all of my driver?s set-up under W2k. Booted at 850Mhz fine, and right after the w2k start-up screen?
?***STOP: 0X0000001E(0xc0000005,0xbbe81360,0x00000000,0x0000006c)KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED? on a blue screen? WTF? Now I don?t know if this is a problem because of the CPU, or because one of the drivers is screwed up. I set the c2 back to 566, same thing, swap it for a PII 400Mhz, same thing! I can boot into safe mode, but don?t really know what to do next. I think Viper GTS had a similar problem. Any way I can get my W2k back without reformatting/reinstalling?

Relax and have brewski while you read this:

:D

P.S.
I thought the principles would be the same between Win 98 & 2K - I should have noted that - sorry. It'll probably restore on your first try. The symptoms are usually more scary than the disease itself, in my experience.

At the '... Press F8' screen press F8. Then elect 'Last known good configuration.'

If this doesn't work then you may have to reinstall, since I gather you didn't get all your HW installed. The backup procedures for Win 2K are more cumbersome than for Win 98 - so make a Rescue Disk ASAP for the future, once you're able!

The OC corrupted your registry. How does one correct that? Well, a nice reinstall of Windows would work...don't know why you'd not want to reinstall 2k...
