Opened the trunk only to find insulation strewn all about, and a hole the size of plum in what was a perfectly good spare tire. It had to have been a rat. Checked throughout the entire vehicle and no other damage or sign of the rat bastard. I don't think he is still around but I baited a trap in the trunk anyway and will leave it there overnight. I can't find any entrance point.
This is a new one by me. Where's my cat when I need him? :\

You will find that your trunk has drain holes - possible in the spare tire area. These are there for obvious reasons. Like letting in mice and rats.

Checked the baited trap this AM and no sign of my new nighttime friend. Perhaps he was just passing through to dine on some Firestone rubber.

LOL

As others have said, they can fit in a hold/hose about the size of a quarter. They don't need a lot of space. A vehicle provides some nice shelter plus heat (if it was running) and can be attractive. Not cool though, for sure.

Your cat is laying down on the job.

Wait, thats the definition of what cats do...I retract my criticism.
