How the heck does a fan all of a sudden stop working?

Like two days ago, I was hearing a weird clicking noise in my computer case, and I thought it was nothing. About five minutes ago, I looked inside my case and realize my Vantec fan stopped spinning. So I'm asking myself, how the heck is my cpu being cooled, well I'm thinking from this one big fan that is pretty close to it, but it's not blowing directly at the cpu. There's no way my socket A fan could of died already because I just started using it about two weeks ago. Is there something in the bios that will turn it back on? I tried readjusting the power switch but still doesn't work. Sigh. What can I do?

Could the header have burned out? Do you have a voltmeter you could use to test for 12V on the power pin, or another fan you could plug in to test the header (2W fan or less, no whopper Thermaltake Smart Fan 2's or ultra-output ones).

Or alternately, plug the fan into another header or a 3-pin adapter and see if the fan works again.

Well I don't have any of those testers and three pin adapter. I guess I'll just have to get another socket A/370 fan. It's weird, I'm suprise my celeron 600mhz is doing fan with the fan blowing it. My comp hasn't froze yet.

I had a mobo fan header die on me, actually I had 2. one was a celeron 330 and it ran just fine without the fan.
