no you go to the machine and you put a credit card into it and it gets your name off the card and prints up the ticket

When I got an E-Ticket from Delta Airlines I went to a seperate machine (ATM like), put in the Credit card I used to purchase the ticket with and it printed it out. Took 5 minutes instead of 30 minutes of waiting in line.

yeah, just go to check-in desk and give them your name and photo id. print out the confirmation page just in case. some airliners have self check-in service, where you would need a credit card to get your tickets.

just came back from NV last week.

One thing I've found with Northwest.. Still do the self-checkin thing even if you have baggage to check. They'll let you cut in line to check the baggage after you have the boarding passes. I'm going to try it when I fly home for Thanksgiving.

I usually just give them my name and ID and then they give me my boarding passes. :)
