Do phones offer this?

"Hi, you've reached the voice mail box of John blalhblalbhalh. I'm not in right now, blalhblahblabhab, so if you blalbhlablahbab leave your name, number, and message, blalbhalblahblabhlh I will get back to you blalbllablahblab."

Yes, I know how to leave a VM. Now how do I skip all that above and go straight to it? Is it different for each phone service?

I think it is different from each phone service. I know Sprint you press 1, but not sure about the others.

Hit pound with hammer.

usually it means they are ignoring you, hit end to stop ringing/vibrating and then again to ignore

Cingular is "#" I think.

Whats mroe annoying is the computer voice telling you what you can do AFTER you leave your voicemail... Its like COME ON get to the beep already!!

"7325647271 is not available right now. To leave your mesage, wait for the beep. After the beep, to send your message press pound, or, for additional options, press 1."

JEEZ just get to the frikking beep without making me wait 60 seconds!

I swear they figured out the average person's vmail is x seconds, they tacked on y seconds for the additional options crap just to get you over a minute so you get charged for 2 minutes instead of 1 for leaving a vmail.

In other news....whose # is 732-564-7271? :) I just happen to be in Central Jersey right now as well.

That drives me nuts. All of the employees I support have verizon phones and they all have it set to that long ass message. Pisses me off trying to leave a message.

LOL.. Everything after the area code is a made up number. I used 732 since its the area code i use most often. Where in Central jersey are you?

Honest question: How many of you dialed that number prefixed by *67?

I might be mistaken, but I think # on T-Mobile is used for the owner of the mailbox to retrieve messages... Like when you hit it during the greeting it asks for the mailbox password. Not sure if thats on T-Mo or Sprint though...

Verizon is '4'? I *know* that's not what I've been told to use in the past... was either * or #. I wonder if it depends on what market you're in, or something... or maybe it has changed since I used it last (long, long, long ago).

Could be. If I have to listen to anything over 5 seconds to leave a message I just hang up.

*shakes fist* at anybody that doesn't allow a pound bypass of greeting!

/me just experimented

For Verizon (in Columbus, at least):
4 = skip outgoing message
* = skip outgoing message
# = login
