Just listened a few times and it rocked. It needed a bit of backing off on the mid's to cut back on crowd noise, but once I adjusted it, it was awesome.

Thanks again Eli...

Great, now I'm too pumped to go to sleep 😀 Even if you don't like Metallica, you gotta give me credit for putting on a great show and James is a damn machine on rhythm guitar. No one else can downpick like he does.

BTW, I never could understand what he says right before the blistering Kirk solo. Anyone know?
Give you credit huh? 😉😛

Yeah, James is a machine. I can't remember if you play guitar, but if you do.. try to play along to that live performance. They're going lightspeed.

You mean in the studio version? He says "Fix meeeee!!!! *moshes around*"

lol

Yeah, it always seemed that any time they played a song live, it was faster than the studio recording. I was listening to some stuff off the Black album the other day (GF's favorite of theirs, of course) and I almost can't bear it because it's like they're playing in slow motion 😛

This, according to me, is one of their best songs and albums.

THEY SUCK NOW.

Metallica........learn to be like Iron Maiden.

I have a video of Master of Puppets from recently(05 I think), with their new bassist.

While nothing like this 1989 performance, it wasn't designed to be. And it still rocks.

If RossMAN gives me permission, I'll post it tonight.

Man, I don't know what to think of Rob. It seems that they downgraded with every new bassist. No one can argue that Cliff was THE bassist for Metallica. He was an amazing bassist and and an even better songwriter. When he died and they got Jason, he managed to fit in, but he just wasn't as good as Cliff (and not just because he uses a pick!). Then he left and now they have rob. Rob at least fingerpicks, and he's definitely got talent, but to me, his stage presence and personailty just doesn't fit in with Metallica. I mean, when I saw them last year in Buffalo, James and Kirk were rocking out and Rob was spinning around with his arms outstretched like he was pretending to be an airplane. It was just too weird.

LOL... I know what you mean.

I think we'll get used to it though. Hopefully he will also contribute more musically to the band than Jason did.

Nobody will ever replace Cliff though.

I went to that show. I wasn't as awe-struck by Metallica as I thought I would be. The radio stations around here played Metallica nonstop the week before the concert. It was insane.

I thought it was a great show. Of course, Godsmack kicked so much ass too that even Metallica had a hard time topping that. I mean, a 10 minute drum duel? That was awesome! It was cool to see Kirk and Rob get some solos too.
