How the Anti-Bush voters skewed the exit polls.

I voted for Bush. Want to know how many people, outside of my family, I told pre & post election?

ZERO

From my experience, you can't openly support Bush without pissing off a vocal Anti-Bush voter in earshot these days. I didn't tell my coworkers nor my friends. I'm certainly not going to bring it up in public for any reason. I'm only going to tell people I know to be Republican or my family members.

I did ask a coworker who she voted for yesterday. She paused, sized me up, look carefully around, and quietly said Bush. She hasn't told many people either and agreed with my reasons. It's tough to vocally support a candidate that a majority of Kerry voters despise.

Am I suprised the exit polls were way off? Heck no! If I was asked who I voted for by a stranger outside of the polls within earshot of Anti-Bush voters, I would lie or brush them off. Much better than being persecuted for my vote.

I'm not ashamed of my vote, nor do I regret it. I'm happy that he won and I'm sure I will enjoy the next 4 years. I just wish I could talk about it without having to lower my voice and check who else is listening. It's also not suprising where all the votes for Bush magically appeared. They were always there, just never speaking above a whisper.

Oh and I live in South Carolina. I can't imagine what hellish experience Bush voters had in battleground states.

haha I have gotten in a Bush this, Bush that argument at almost every party I've been to in the last month. I'm always outnumbered, but it is GREAT fun. But one time I did declare Clinton started Desert Storm 🙂

And even after the election its a heated issue.

In Wisconsin..

My story is the exact opposite of yours. Everyone around me is for Bush, so I didn't tell them that I voted for Kerry.

The exit polls where not even that far off. Just idiots didn't wait until exit polls where completed before looking at the numbers.

Sorry the exit pollers are smarter than that. I'm sure they saw through your game and marked the opposite of what you said.

Yeah ... plus they followed you to your car and saw the Bush/Cheney '04 bumper sticker on your car and knew you were scamming them. :Q

Yup, although I told people I was voting for Kerry, I just didn't let myself get into anything with Bush supporters, and there were plenty of them who seemed to feel I was the devil.

This thread is a pathetic attempt to paint Kerry supporters as evil and Bush supporters as virtuous, yet again. Anyone who takes their head out of the sand for five seconds will see most of the people on both sides are fine, and there are just a few that act like dumbasses.

And my person election experience? I got called a "lovely human lover" when I told someone I voted for Kerry. So you can imagine how full of sh!t I think mflacy is talking about intimidation of Bush voters like it didn't happen to Kerry voters too.

I never said it didn't happen to Kerry voters. I'm absolutely positive it did. I'm just shocked I live in a state that has been red for ages and I'm having a tough time taking politics in public. If's it's tough for me, I willing to bet it's tougher for people in battleground states like Florida and Ohio.

All we heard about before the election were the Anti-Bush voters. In my opinion, it's tougher to support a candidate that a large portion of the opposing side is voting against due to hate instead of support for their own candidate.

In addition Kerry supporters are vastly different voters than Anti-Bush voters. Make the distinction before you rant on with your false assumptions.
