websites are rarely money making machines. Banner advertising is fatally flawed, even very large sites are losing money. I remmember the good old days of high CPM and the RIAA was clueless about mp3... ok I'm rambling.

to ellaborate, my personal site borism.net gets between 300 and 1000 hits per week. When I update I get more hits.. no updates in a month.. life has been busy (though somehow plenty of time for AT)

I believe my record high was 58 hits a day and the average now is about 15. But I also haven't made changes in about a month or more.

Personal website hasn't been doing so well since I got to college. Friends from back home don't visit as much because the content isn't really about them anymore. They used to visit daily to see what I had to say about what went down during the day...

Anyway, I should have r5 out this weekend, during my midsemester break. 3 months late...

the clan message board was visited more than the page.

We average about 100K hits a day. Do we make money... some. Enough to pay us each $5/hour. HELL NO. But things are looking pretty decent, we have a couple ad contracts which secure us a monthly income. We haven't really been hit by the recent drop in online adversiting yet. Hopefully we won't, but things need to pickup soon.

I paid for web space, and a domain name, I have advertisers, however I don't have much content. I get about 20 hits a week.

I used to make about $100/month off banners. Had about 30,000~40,000 visitors per month. Was good enough to give me some money to upgrade a few little things.

If we base it upon whether it helped someone, then based upon the emails I get my website is a success.
