How stupid does someone have to be to fall for the Nigerian scams?

Seriously.

I'm still getting Nigerian scam emails.

Even if someone does not posses the intelligence to realize off the bat that it's a blatant scam, there have been enough stories about them going around that I don't see how anyone can possibly fall for it.

Yet I still get them all the time.

I personally met a guy who drove 2 days cross country to go to the Nigerian Consulate in NYC to get the supposed cash. Not only was he scammed by the Nigerians, he was scammed by an American who led him out to NYC.

Wife (with 2 daughters) divorced him earlier this year.

Is the guy even semi-normal?
I can't wrap my mind around how a normal intelligent person falls for this.

You know those people who call you for help fixing their PCs all the time? They are stupid enough to fall for the 419 scams.
