How Strict is Dell's Return Policy

I bought a laptop last week (the 750 off of 1499 deal), and realized that I didnt order some of the upgrades (Im stuck with the intel gma 900).

The laptop is already on its way. I called Dell and they said that they will charge me a 15% restocking fee if I were to return it.

Any suggestions of what you would do in my case?

I know it was due to my carelessness that this happened, but I would like to get some feedback from AT before I accept my order.

find problems with your lappy... ie screen problems, hard drive noises. complain, they will let you return for free.

When it arrives if you REFUSE - RETURN TO SENDER, there should be no restocking fee.

If I refuse to sender will the money I paid become store credit or will it turn into a refund? Wouldnt Dell charge me 15% anyway for refusing the shipment?

They'll refund your money, with no restocking fee.

It can take a while for them to refund to your card, I hope you used a credit card & not a debit.

No because you didn't request an RMA # but as Viper GTS said it could take a while to re-credit your card.

I hope you were smart and used a CREDIT CARD not a DEBIT CARD.

yeah just put a sign on your door... make sure it's big and clear because ups deliverymen are morons who are in a hectic rush to drop that package off.
