How stable is Opera 7.10?

I've been using Opera for a while now. When I switched to Opera 7.10 (from 6.x), I noticed that it seems to crash a bit more often under Windows XP. I can't really pinpoint the cause of the crash, but it usually happens once every 15-20 hours of browsing.
Does anyone else notice any slight instability while running opera?


 
I do. It mainly seems to get flakey when I run Java applets or some flash animations (but most work)... it's odd. Certainly not as good as 6.x, but even that was far from perfect w/ respect to these two types of content. As for normal html pages, yeah Opera6 was more stable.
 
I agree with you guys 100%. Opera 7.x is the least stable version since 3.x or 4.x. I've clean installed 7.03, 7.10 and 7.11 many times on several test systems over several different computers and it hasn't been particularly stable on any of them. Between the really wierd way it renders a page and the distinct lack of stability (compared to 5.x and 6.x) I think Opera's really taken a wrong turn with 7.x.

Opera's been my default browser since 4.x and I just about ready to throw in the towel and switch to Phoenix/Firebird. I've been using the .6 nightly builds for the past 3-4 weeks and have been very, very happy with them. The official .6 Milestone release hit the servers Friday night and I've been using it 100% since then. They've pretty much nailed what I want in a browser and Opera's lost their direction.
 
Maybe I should check out Phoenix. I'm addicted to the Opera interface though 🙁
Must haves: tabbed interface, zoom, wand, flexible skins
 
Phoenix is great, just been using it for a day. there are other threads out on it too at the moment if you want more opinions.
