How soon will we see dual-layer DVD+Rs drop in price?

Right now we're looking at about $10 CAD per disc, which is 10X the cost of regular DVD+R or -R.

They'll drop around 1Q 2006 from what I'm told, watch out for miniDVD's becoming the next big thing sooner then you think.

I dont know, i cant even find anything more than 120 minute discs. Office max has some 4 hour dvd rw's but for an exhorbitant price. I'm transferring most of my VHS(except a few collectors vhs movies) to dvd, and I am waiting for a decent price on 4 hour recordable discs, to record longer movies all on one disc.I have a dvd burner in my P.C., however i use a standalone 98.00 wal-mart I-LO recorder to do my copying.

I was always under the impression that Brigden was a male. May be wrong though.

Yes, sorry, dual-layer.

I'd give it 4-6 months. DVDs dropped really fast (at least to me) so hopefully it's gonna be the same for DL-DVDs.

It's cheaper now

Although Memorex's are $25 for a 3 pack (9.5 per disc after taxes) & $140 (6.38/ disc after taxes) for a 25 pack (all canadian prices)

Cheers,

We have had dual layer burners out for almost 2 yrs. now IIRC.

And the stupid media is still ridiculously expensive.

I frankly am quite pissed off at the whole thing, since an entire year ago, i thought we'd be getting them for at most $2/disc or less.
2 years of nothing but hype & BS.

I think HD-DVD & BR-DVD recordable media is going to completely eclipse DVD+/-DL media, frankly.
