besides SC ... what games do i need quad core for?

optimizing dual-core games still need a little work

[nevermind r600 240w each:Q]

Allendale

An E4400 Allendale will be available on April 22, 2007. As with the E4300, it will not have Virtualization Technology. This date also coincides with prices being slashed across the Core 2 lineup.[22] In Q3 2007, an E4500 Allendale will be launched, phasing out the E4300 model.[23]

will it only be $266?
:Q

i am way behind the times

i am wasting too much time in Video
--i'll head back there now :D

It does but it also runs fine on my single core CPU for the most part so don't hold off buying the game.

I got SC for $33 on GoGamer about a week ago and I just completed the third campaign tonight. It's a great game and sure it bogs down when there's a ton of units (on my system). As long as you expect that on single core, who cares, enjoy it and then when prices precipitate it, upgrade and enjoy smoother play.

i am more of a FPS or RPG kinda guy ... B&W2 is the closest i got to RTS

i don't have that kind of patience

he did say SC was OK until the armies got huge .... then it was a slideshow on SC

STALKER is 'up' right now and it a total 'hit' with me ... Shivering Isles and RE4 are 'on deck' before i consider anything else ... then maybe Expansion Point [boring, compared with STALKER]

anyway, i did a little catch-up reading-wise on dual core and quad core ... looks like they will become pretty mainstream by the end of next year ...

it'll be time to definitely retire my Single core machine .... over 4 years old at that point ... by then ...
--unless i want an xbox :p

but what a nice run it's been :)
