How soon is too soon to give a kitten catnip?

I know you're not supposed to give it to them until the reach a certain age, but I can't remember what age, and can't find any info on the internet, anybody know?

id assume since most age things happen at 6 months for a kitten.. might as well be for catnip too. My kitty loves catnip.. he rolls around with his little catnip dolly licking it to death and frolicking with it.

Not a technical answer:

We usually start at about 8 months, but even then they usually are not interested. Seems like they have to mature before they can become stoners.

An herb that is botanically classified in the mint family. Basically, it gets kitties high. If you give it to a cat, they'll go nuts eating and rolling around in it. My cats tend to get really happy and hyper for a while when we give it to them.

EDIT: Yes, I'd wait until they're at least 6 months old before you give it to them. However, I'm not a vet, I just play one on ATOT. 😉

I've never heard that it is bad for a kitten to have catnip - but usually kittens are not at all interested in it until they are 9-12 months old. They just sniff it once and walk away.
