How should modular drive be stored when not in laptop?

I am just curious how I should store my laptop modular drive or if there is some type of case out there that I could buy to put it in while it is not in use.

I've never seen or heard of a purpose made case for such things. A suitably sized padded case designed for something else could certainly be used, though.

There are no particular techniques, just general caution. Don't drop them, don't squeeze them(many are quite delicate with respect to pressure), don't let them get dusty. That said, I've seen a fair few users who just shove their modules(the old curved Dell ones, floppy and CD drives) into extra pockets on the laptop bag, and they survived a fair while.

Why do you need to store it? are you swapping devices between that bay?

I just bought a modular bay battery for my laptop... I have the asus z70va and I want to take the dvd drive out when I am at school because no use for it.
