how should i wait before building a new pc?

was looking at athlon64 3200+ a gig of ram and radeon 9800 pro. i dont know exactly which motherboard to buy. i would use it mostly for gaming. so whats a good motherboard and about how long should i wait to buy the goodies since theres lotsa new stuff around the corner?

Gigabyte K8NS which runs for $135 is a good one, it uses the Nforce 3 250 Chipset which has a pci/agp lock if you plan on overclocking.

well whats the differance between nforce 3 250 and VIA VIA K8T800?
