How should I treat this infected cut?

Hello, last week I got a mosquito bite and it has become infected. I went to the doctors yesterday and they gave me some antibiotics. He also told me to do hot compresses, however he didn't say how many times a day. I've been doing it 3 times a day and I am still in horrible pain and it kills my arm to move it. Also I'm wondering if my compresses/soaks have been too hot since I noticed today I got a burn on my finger. Should I boil water or just use hot water from the tap? When I am not soaking it or doing hot compresses I put a band aid over it with neosporin. Any suggestions on eliminating my pain and getting rid of this ASAP? Thanks

PIC (kinda gross, the black pen marks are supposed to be the max size before I have to go to the doctors again)

You shouldn't be burning yourself with a hot compress.

Just keep the would clean and put neosporin on it.

Soaking it in water treated with sea salt might help.

Hydrogen peroxide, put a bandage on it, and change the bandage every 24 hours, cleaning it off with hydrogen peroxide/gauze.

It's a waiting game now. Take all the antibiotics, continue your regimen of hot compress, and keep it covered. It's goning to hurt, not much you can do about that.

com'mon you're 50. it'll grow nicely into a scar. from your last shoot-out it only left a dimple on your face! an infected cut is nothing!

Reopen the wound, squeeze anything in there out,

Hydrogen peroxide and tripple antibiotic ointment.

That's how I would tackle it.

<--- not a doctor

Dude, that doesn't look like a mosquitoe bite - I'm 90% certain that it's a spider bite. Spider bites are usually raised due to the toxins from the venom that are distroying tissue. In cases of a very venomous spider, the whole aree of inflammation dies, leaving a large mass of dead tissue up to an inch deep.

A guy at work got a bug bite, itched it continually, it got infected, his arm swelled up, he went to the doctor, doctor put him in the hospital for 48 hours for observation. I guess him mom never told him to "Quit scratching! You're only making it worse!"
