How should I test my motherboard

I sent my motherboard to Asus for repair because I was getting hardware error BSODs. Swapping motherboards cured the problem. I received the board back and have set it up with some spare components. It survived 20hrs of OCCT but I'd like to really stress it to make sure that it is fixed before using it for something important. How can I do this?

The paperwork from Asus provided no details regarding what they did with the motherboard. I have no idea if they did anything at all with it.

Odds are, they sent you a different, possibly refurbished board.

If everything works like it should, what more testing do you need?

AFAIK most companies do not send back the same unit you sent in for repair. Most will send back a refurb.

Not that it can't happen. I once sent in a Shuttle barebones because the AGP slot was dead. They actually did a repair of it and sent back the actual unit I sent in, with a document on what they did. It did take a couple weeks though.

If everything works like it should, what more testing do you need?

I know, right? Heck in the storage forum there are even people talking about testing and full formatting HDDs before they will trust it - and that's on brand new drives!

The board Asus sent back to me has the same serial number and MAC address. So I'm pretty sure it's the same board.

I set it up again in my workstation and it seems to be working ok, although my UPS did shut down with a mysterious overload alarm last night. If I get a week of uptime then I'll start to trust it more.

I had to reboot once but I've attained more than 4 days of uptime. So far so good (knock on wood).
