How should I set up multiple Hard drives?

Hi everyone, just wanted to say this is a great board, lots of information to help me through my first computer build. Now, on to the questions:

I used a K8V SE deluxe as the backbone to my system, and everything went successfully, and things seem to be working great. However, there are a couple minor things I'd like to tweak.

First, is that I have two hard drives set up on my machine, the boot one is a 160GB SATA on the Via 1 channel, while the second is a 200GB Hitachi 7200RPM on the Primary IDE Master. There is no primary slave IDE drive, and the cdroms are on the secondary IDE master and slave. THe IDE HD shows UDMA 5, so I'm pretty sure its set up correctly. However, I find that transfers between the drives are slow, noticeably slower than an equivalent copy through the firewire or USB 2 port to my external drives. It might actually be faster to copy the data to the external, and then back over to the other internal, than doing it directly. Does anyone know how to make a direct transfer faster, or what I might be doing wrong?

Secondly, I have tried to get AMD cool and quiet working on the machine, but I find that it slows down my clockspeed by half, so instead of running at 2000Mhz, it runs arouund 1001mhz. However, the clock speed does fluctuate, but even under 100 cpu load, the clock speed won't go back up to the 2000Mhz the machine is capable of, but only up to 1050mhz or so. Anyone know what I might be doing wrong?

Otherwise though, this board is great, and so is Newegg. A pretty much flawless first build.

As for sys specs:

AMD 64 3000+
K8V SE Deluxe
Corsair 2x512 DDR 400 RAM (the cheap stuff from Newegg)
160GB Samsung SATA
200GB Hitachi PATA 100
Gigabyte 9600XT 128MB vid card
Audigy LS sound card
Hauppauge PVR-250 video capture card
Pioneer DVD-ROm
NEC 2500a dual format DVD burner

Thanks in advance!
