i recently bought the new TDK 16x burner (SWEET) and I currently have a pioneer 16x DVD drive, the question i have is what should be my primamry drive the CD-R or the DVD ??? i also have two hard drives and when i set up each drive how should i go about it ???

thanks in advance

I think the tdk burner has to be the primary device and the dvd should be slave. I'm pretty sure that my tdk said that in the manual.

What exactly do you mean set up 2 drives? What are there specs? Just off-hand i would make the faster drive the C: drive (master) and the other drive slave.

Hope this helps

If you plan on doing on-the-fly burning, then I suggest putting the DVD on one channel, then the other TDK on another. It would conflict a lot if you were to put them on the same channel and try to do on the fly burns. If you aren't doing on the fly burns then I don't see any reason why you can't have them on the same channel.

when i speak of two drives, i have one 40 gig, 7200 rpm master that is the main drive and want to know if I should set up the burner to go off that.....i also have a 10 gig, 5400 rpm as a back up drive as the secondary drive and want to know which of the two cd drives to set up. i do plan on doing on the fly burning, and will set them up on seperate channels, just wondering if it matters what one goes on what channel

thanks

CDRW as master
DVD as slave

If you have 4 IDE ports then try to put the CDRW as master on its own controller.
