How should I put this network together?

I'm feeling pretty n00b-ish here.

I have a 16-port switch, a router/print server, and now a 2.4GHz G router. My internet is DSL, comes into my main computer via USB. My house is fully wired for ethernet, so I need the switch. Print server/router I could do without.

How do I connect all this together? My old cable modem used to pipe internet into the router, then to the switch, and all was well. The wireless router and DSL modem are new, and I don't know how to configure all this. Is there any way to not have the modem connected to a computer, and to the router instead?

Thanks.

If your Modem has also an Ethernet port then disconnect it from the USB and the computer. Connect the Ethernet port of the modem to the WAN port of the Router and take care of the PPPOE if it is needed ( http://www.ezlan.net/PPPOE.html ).

If your Modem does not have an Ethernet port get yourself a modem with an Ethternet port and ditch the current Modem.

Connect the switch to one of the regular LAN port on the Router, and plug all the Network cables that lead to the computers into the Router's and switch ports.

In general it should look like this, http://www.ezlan.net/network/router.jpg
