How should I protect my camera when I wanna take a picture in the rain?

Anyone knows what I could use for my G3? I want to take pics in the rain and I don't know how to protect it. Should I get an underwater case?

underwater case? umm, i guess. seems like a bit much, but i don't see any other alternative besides the good ol' garbage bag over the head/equipment.
