Write some software to propose and install it on her computer at work (or home will do if she dosen't use a computer at work). Make it extravegant with lots of sound and stuff.

I always say, take how much sex you are getting right now, cut it in half, and ask yourself, can I live with it? If so, go for it. I asked my EX wife, by carefully disecting a Cracker Jack Box, and cutting open the toy suprise bag, and putting the ring in it, and sealing it back up again :) Did it when we were in the mountainds by ourselves camping- had the desired effect.

With regards to the ring, I took my fiancee out to a few decent jewelers before I proposed under the guise that we were looking for other things and while we were in there we looked at engagement rings so I could figure out what she liked, once I knew what she wanted I just bought that and used it...alot easier than buying two rings one of which you will only use once.

I also picked the first place we met as the place to propose to her, I suggest something sentimental, but then again there is always the nice resturaunt route as that is popular as well.

good luck

That's just about the way I did it in this thread.

I would advise avoiding the birthday. She might be expecting it on a special day like that.

There's all kinds of creative ways folks have proposed. I'm sure you can find one that's special to you and her.

(As for the ring, I find it elegant. Not what I whould choose, but very elegant.)

I've been engaged twice. First time was very romantic. Just after graduating from college, went on a trip with my (now Ex). Proposal took place at a restaurant the first evening. Beautiful engagement ring, presented on bended knee in front of the whole restaurant. Rest of the trip was awesome. Very memorable and romantic.

Second time, no proposal, no engagement ring. Just a mutual consensus that we'd get married, all of a sudden. Crappy wedding rings from a place that buys and sells precious metals (more or less a pawn shop.) No beautiful wedding, just the JOP thing, pitifully short honeymoon to Victoria BC. Still married, though. Guess it works out when it should, no matter the circumstances.

Don't do it on her birthday. I did that and up until I never had to see her again, I was periodically reminded how I conveniently got out of buying her a birthday gift by proposing to her.

I'm thinking...do it a couple days after her birthday.

Thank you all for those wonderful suggestions. I'll keep in mind NOT to do it on her brithday :) as many of you had suggested not a good idea. I might do it while we're back home in Hawaii!!! ;) I'll update everyone once I built up enough courage to go ahead with this proposal :p. Although keep the suggestions coming. :)

Like the ring, nice and simple for proposal ring. Take her to dinner at the restaurant you first went out to eat at. Relive your first date kind of thing. Then pop the question when the time is right.:)
