Hey I managed to get a Xenon processor fan. and happens to fit my AMD heatsink exactly. So I have decided to fit it to my heat sink. man let me tell u this fan is powerful. I mean really powerful.

But my question is that when i connected to test the fan..i noticed that where it has the intel sticker which i am guessing is the way intel recommended installing the fan.. it puts heat out as opposed to push cool air in.

what would u guys recommend. my current fan pull cool air into the heat sink. should i just keep it that was and installed this new fan as such or should i reverse that fan??

while i am insatlleing the fan what if i put some material like "padding material" to muffle some sound..do u think that will work??

Lastly if i manage to get my hands on the Xenon Heat sink itself...do u think i will be able to install it on my AMD..i have lots of space around my CPU. So i think i might do that..

TIA

Point the fan down, blowing onto the heatsink. Swiftech's are the only heatsinks, afaik, that benefit from the fan blowing away from the processor.

And Alpha 8045's too; some people report better temps with it blowing onto the heatsink; seems to vary by user though.
