How should I go about selling my iPhone?

So that I can buy the new one when it comes out? It's in good condition and has a screen protector. Is there a place people prefer for selling these things? [redacted]

I hope this doesn't come off as a price check, if I does I can edit/delete it. I'm just totally lost here and have never really sold anything (especially something kind of expensive)...and I will go crazy if I don't get the new one lol.

Thanks a ton!

Removed the price check, lets keep this about where/how to sell it, not how much. Thanks

Just put it up on ebay or craigslist. I had luck with them the last few times I sold my iphones. Compare prices on those sites first.

If only there were places online were others are selling their iPhones where you could look to see how much they were selling for. It would be even better if one of those places gave an idea of how much iPhones were selling for in your city right now.

LOL.

Throw it on craigslist for $300 or best offer. People will offer $250. Take it.

AT fs/ft! i just sold mine there! craigslist (smaller audience, no fees), ebay (much larger audience, fees), etc.

I think I'm able to unlock my phone since it is an early 3GS. Are unlocked phones more desirable to buyers?

Also good idea about the fs/ft board, thanks!

Question: what happens to my account when I sell it? Like I'll still have to pay for data and stuff, anything else? This transfers over to the new device?

When I get the new iPhone, I will have to sign an additional 2 year commitment, no?

If you sell your current and buy the new one off of Ebay or something its just a matter of popping your sim out of the old one and into the new. Though you probably have to go to AT&T to get a mini sim or buy that cutter that chops a normal sim into a mini.

I also got the 3GS when it first came out. I'm guessing the value will of it will go down even more when the 4G comes out.

Is the price for the 4G $499 for those who have been under contract for less than 18 months?

FYI, it is the iPhone 4, not the 4G.

AT&T is letting you get the upgrade price if you are/would be eligible for an upgrade any time in 2010.

posted this over at macrumors, does this sound about right? gonna sell this on fs/ft thanks to the advice of another forum member!

Just curious, what exactly should i do if i want to sell my 3GS and unlock it (it is unlockable, older boot rom)?

1)unlock/jailbreak firmware 3.1.3 with sn0wbreeze
2)restore to firmware
3)do NOT restore any personal info
4)take out SIM card and sell?

is it as easy as that? Then when i get the new one ill have to pay early upgrade and sign for an additional 2 years?

Thanks...i hope someone still wants to buy one lol...prolly buy an iPhone 4 regardless because i am just that pathetic.
